The McArdle Clinic

The AGSD (UK) is very pleased to be able to support the McArdle Clinic at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry. This is the UK's only clinic for McArdle disease and patients travel from all over the country. It is an invaluable resource for our patient community and is a centre of excellence. In fact, we understand that no other country operates a clinic such as this, with patients elsewhere being seen individually by consultants.

There is significant benefit in having patients (and their families) get together at these clinics. But perhaps even more important is the fact that the clinic approach enables patients to be seen by a range of professionals in one visit. They in turn build their understanding of the disease by seeing so many patients.

The AGSD (UK) encourages everyone with a diagnosis of McArdle disease to ask their general practitioner to refer them to the McArdle clinic.
